Earlier this month, Quitch CEO and Founder, Dr. Grainne Oates presented Quitch at SXSW Interactive.
South by Southwest (SXSW) is the world’s largest technology conference and (in Grainne’s words), a high-octane experience. It is held annually in Austin, Texas with approx. 70,000 participants.
SXSW Interactive focuses on innovation, enabling start-up companies greater reach of technology investors. Grainne was fortunate enough to pitch the new found company, Quitch at an event which included the likes of Vice President Joe Biden, Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender.
Quitch competed against the other Australian start-ups chosen by Austrade, and the output was unbelievably positive. Ok, we didn’t win “best pitch”, but the overflow of attention and curiosity that Quitch received, confirmed that our platform has appeal across many sectors.
We started as a company focused on personalised class learning in the educational sector (high schools and universities in particular), now we see that the corporate and health sectors would benefit greatly from Quitch too. We received interest from hospitals, Government departments, corporate firms and even banking.
We will not lose sight of our purpose, striving to meet the needs of students in a world where they are faced with many competing demands. To increase engagement through modifying behaviour is a powerful way to implement change in which ever sector we enter.
